Bird Flu Continues to Plague India & Bangladesh

West Bengal, India, the scene of some of the worst Avian Influenza outbreaks last year, is again being plagues by the disease, with two more villages confirming the disease. Culling operations will commence in this latest outbreak with total cull numbers in this year’s bird flu outbreak in India spiraling past 500,000.

Meanwhile Bangladesh, which boarders West Bengal, has also announced another outbreak of the disease on its southern boarder. Just over 1,000 birds have been culled for this latest outbreak, with bird flu cases persistent since October last year.
